Why Reiki?
Reiki is a non-invasive complementary practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century and is associated with the teachings of Mikao Usui.
The practice is based on traditional concepts relating to the presence of a vital life force energy (often referred to as Ki, Chi, or Prana) that is believed to be present in living systems. During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body while the individual remains resting.
Many people choose Reiki as a relaxation-focused practice or as part of their personal wellbeing routine. Experiences during a session can vary between individuals.
Reiki is considered a complementary practice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical conditions. It does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified medical practitioner. Individuals with physical or mental health concerns should seek advice from their GP or relevant healthcare professional.

How Reiki Supports the Body and Mind
Reiki is often described as a gentle relaxation-based practice. Some people report experiencing a sense of calm or restfulness during or after a session, although individual experiences can vary.
Current scientific evidence examining Reiki and other energy-based practices is limited and findings are mixed. For this reason, Reiki is generally considered a complementary wellbeing practice rather than a medical or therapeutic intervention.
People may choose Reiki as part of their personal relaxation or mindfulness routine. Experiences during a session may differ between individuals.
Reiki sessions may be offered in person or remotely. Distance sessions are conducted using the same traditional framework; however, experiences and responses can vary between individuals.
Reiki is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified medical practitioner. Individuals with physical or mental health concerns should seek advice from their GP or other appropriate healthcare professional.
